The Program Center

The Program Center at Helping Hands Street Mission is a place for people to come and experience community, in a number of different ways, depending on the day of the week.

On Monday afternoons the cafe opens up as a place to drop in for a coffee and a cookie. Take it to go, or stay and enjoy the music, while playing a game of darts or reading the paper. In the evenings, the men of our community gather together, share a meal, engage in a devotional, and enjoy a time of social interaction, sharing and supporting one another in life.

Wednesdays start off with a gathering of ladies digging into God’s word in a time of bible study. In the afternoon, the cafe once again opens for anyone to drop in.

Our ladies group meets on Thursdays. They enjoy a delicious hot meal together and participate in a time of creativity and crafts.

Barton Cafe is the place to be on Friday afternoon and evening. In the evenings there will often be cards, board games, darts, and the occasional movie for viewing!

On top of all these regular activities, there are other times of excitement throughout the month. RAW (Real Awesome Worship), is when our friends come in to learn about our faith, God’s love for them, and participate in a time of worship. There is also Barton Barber, which is when the space is converted into a fully functional hair salon! Our friends are treated to a full hair treatment: wash, cut, blow dry and style! There are lunch nooks, income tax preparation clinics, Community Health and Illness Prevention presentations, and so much more!

We invite you to come down for a coffee and experience for yourself what it is about this space that keeps our friends coming back! Rest assured, you will leave changed!
